Our Mission:

Loving God, Loving People

OUR heart:

We desire :
To be a church community with significant impact, lovingly bringing the message of the Good News of Jesus Christ to the Tauranga area.
To worship and experience God.
To welcome, love, disciple, equip and release people to participate in God’s Kingdom.
To be a Spirit empowered, caring, healing, creative and relevant community of believers that will contribute to our community and the redemptive history of the Bay of Plenty.

Our values:

1.    Intimacy in Worship
Living to love God and be loved by Him, and to experience His presence in our corporate worship.

2.    The Holy Spirit
We desire to partner with the Holy Spirit and move in the Spiritual gifts as He empowers us.

3.    Reconciliation
We value reconciling people with God and with one another.

4.    Compassion
We intentionally engage in compassionate ministry.

5.    Missions
We value culturally relevant missions & outreach in both our local community & in the world.

Our Pastors:

Peter & Jackie Gossman

Colin Shilston

We began our ministry in South Africa in 1995, serving as associate pastors in the “Every Nation” Church in Johannesburg. In 2010 we planted a Vineyard Church in Port Elizabeth.
We moved to New Zealand in 2016 and heeded God’s call to join Journey Vineyard Church in Tauranga, with the founding Pastors Mark & Tina Salisbury. In 2025 Mark & Tina moved to Christchurch & handed over the leadership to ourselves.
We are passionate about helping people to connect intimately with our loving God and to find the healing and freedom that comes from experiencing, and abiding in, His presence.

As you will see from the photo, I am very much married to my lovely wife Rachelle. We have been married for 37 years and have three wonderful children, two fantastic children in-law (one with us, one with Jesus) and 2 greatly loved grandchildren. Currently we are living in Tauranga where we have been for 6 years since returning from a time living in Canada.
Over the years I have worked in many roles. I trained as a teacher, but have worked as a youth worker, youth pastor, and pastor. I also have had the joy of teaching at a number of Bible Colleges including Lifeway College, Vineyard Bible College, and Faith Bible College. Currently I am working as a support worker for people with disabilities.
My passion is to see people growing to become "mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." (Eph 4:13)
